Well you see, It was a forced marriage like France and England's. It is known as 'The Tyding's-Mucduffie Act.' This act, reads that The American government arranged a sudden alliance of peaceful transition to The Philippine Government, As it was stated, The TMA only lasted for ten years.

Current president at the time : Manuel L. Quezon

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell. . The act mandated U.S. recognition of independence of the Philippine Islands as a separate and self-governing nation after a ten-year transition period.

I don't think it is considered a marriage between the Philippines and America. What happened to France and England were different. They're united not as two sovereign countries but one unified country. The Philippines and USA just formed an alliance, period. So you could say that Philippines is still in the house of America at that time with much more freedom and she was constantly supervised by America because he was scared that Philippines might turn to be a difficult enemy when she turned to be a communist. The Communist, at that time, was surrounding Philippines from North to South.

That's what I calculated in some articles I have read and learned :)

I read that one already. Though, it still is confusing. I can't agree to her idea of marriage. I mean if that's the meaning of marriage to her, then America have married his Allies by now.

Like what I've said earlier, when they proposed to get a union. It's like two become one. For example, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Franco-British Union and our very own Philippines and Brunei when Kingdoms exist at that time.
